Andrew Forrester

Bio

Andrew C. Forrester is an adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute and currently serves as an economist in the Office of Employment and Unemployment Statistics at the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. A quantitative economist and statistician, Andrew previously worked at the Cato Institute in the Center for Global Liberty and Prosperity and at the American Enterprise Institute. His research focuses on economic statistics, labor and financial economics, time series and seasonal adjustment, and quantitative demography.

Andrew is originally from Chicago and obtained an MA in economics with a concentration in finance from the Farmer School of Business at Miami University. He also graduated Beta Gamma Sigma with a BS in quantitative economics and a BA in German from Miami. Andrew is a member of the American Economic Association.

He also serves as an economist and lead demographer in the Division of Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) at the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. He is a PhD student at the Joint Program in Survey Methodology and Data Science at the University of Maryland, College Park.
