Rik Chakraborti
Bio
Rik Chakraborti is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Christopher Newport University. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Wyoming, an M.S. in Economics from the University of Oregon, an M.A. in Economics from Jadavpur University in India, and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Burdwan in India.
As an applied microeconomist, he has a diverse range of interests, including Environmental Economics, Behavioral Economics, International Trade, and the Environment.
Originally from India, Rik spent his formative years near Kolkata, a culturally vibrant place. He then ventured to the Pacific Northwest in Eugene, Oregon, for his Master’s degree, and later to Laramie, Wyoming, for his Ph.D.
In his leisure time, Rik enjoys fishing, music, hiking, exploring breweries, and reading. He’s even been known to combine these activities simultaneously, with outcomes yet to be fully discovered.
