Bio
Steven Horwitz was the Distinguished Professor of Free Enterprise and Director of the Institute for the Study of Political Economy in the Department of Economics in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University in Muncie, IN. He was also an Affiliated Senior Scholar at the Mercatus Center in Arlington, VA, and a Senior Fellow at the Fraser Institute of Canada. He authored three books, his most recent being Hayek’s Modern Family: Classical Liberalism and the Evolution of Social Institutions. He wrote extensively on Hayek and Austrian economics, monetary theory and history, and American economic history.
He passed away in July of 2021 and is fondly remembered by his colleagues.
