Adam N. Michel currently holds the position of Director of Tax Policy Studies at the Cato Institute. His primary focus revolves around assessing the economic and budgetary implications of taxation in the United States.
Before joining Cato, Michel served as the Deputy Staff Director at the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee. In this capacity, he played a pivotal role in Senator Mike Lee’s Social Capital Project, organized congressional hearings, and conducted research on a wide range of contemporary economic issues. His previous roles include Senior Policy Analyst at the Heritage Foundation and Program Manager for the Spending and Budget Initiative at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.
Michel’s insights and expertise are frequently featured in respected publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and the Washington Post.
