Bio

Armando R. Lopez-Velasco is an assistant professor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. His work is focused on political-economic aspects of immigration policy as well as social security with the help of static and dynamic calibrated general equilibrium models. He also studies issues related to dynamic inefficiency in economies (over-accumulation of capital) and mechanisms that generate power-laws in the distribution of earnings and wealth, among other topics. His work has appeared in the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Economics Letters, Macroeconomic Dynamics and Economic Modeling, among others. Armando holds a Ph.D. and M.A. degrees from the University of California Santa Barbara.
