Carlos Garriga
Bio
Carlos Garriga is the Senior Vice President over the Research Division at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank in 2007, he was faculty at the Department of Economics at Florida State University (2001-2007) and at the Universitat de Barcelona (1996-2001). He has been a visiting scholar at the Deutsche Bundesbank, the Reserve Bank in New Zealand, Sveriges Riksbank, the Federal Reserve Banks of Minneapolis and Atlanta and LAEF at the University of California Santa Barbara, CEDEC Washington University in St. Louis, the London School of Economics, and the University of Minnesota. He has given lectures at Washington University in St. Louis, the Universidad Nacional de Educacion a Distancia (UNED), and Abat Oliba CEU University.
He has published articles in the American Economic Review, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Monetary Economics, European Economic Review, Journal of European Economic Association, International Economic Review, Review of Economic Dynamics, Economic Letters, Economic Modeling, and chapters in books published by Chicago University Press and MIT Press. His research has received the financial support of the National Science Foundation (NSF), Ministerio de Educacion y Ciencia (Spain), and Generalitat de Catalunya (Spain). He is the editor of the Review at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, a member of the editorial advisory board at Public Finance Review, and a former Associate Editor at the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control.
He received his PhD in Economics at Universitat de Barcelona in 1999. His areas of expertise include macroeconomics and housing, households finance, asset pricing, financial markets and monetary economics.
