Claudia Strow
Bio
Claudia is a professor of economics at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Prior to joining the faculty at PBA, Claudia taught Economics for 21 years at Western Kentucky University. Claudia earned her undergraduate degree in math-economics at Furman University and her master’s and Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University.
Claudia specializes in labor economics, economics of the household, and economics of gender. She has published in each of these areas as well as in the areas of immigration, economic history, and social welfare theory. She also has co-devised and published a number of pedagogical tools for economics and has co-written a principles textbook that is now in its third edition. She has advised student clubs for over 20 years and has led students on study abroad trips to Costa Rica, South Africa, and Australia. Dr. Strow has traveled with Semester at Sea and has participated in a living and learning community at Harlaxton College in England. She is passionate about study abroad opportunities and encourages her students to travel abroad by incorporating her experiences abroad into her lectures and mentoring.
