Emily Hamilton
Bio
Emily Hamilton is a contributing scholar with the CGO. She serves as a Senior Research Fellow and holds the role of Director for the Urbanity Project at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Her research expertise centers on urban economics and land-use policy, wherein she bridges the realms of academic research and policy formulation.
Her writing has been featured in distinguished publications such as the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and her occasional column at Governing. Emily’s influence extends to the legislative sphere, having testified before various state legislatures and the U.S. House of Representatives. She generously shares her expertise by serving on the Advisory Boards of Up for Growth and Cityscape, a journal published by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Emily obtained her PhD in economics from George Mason University.
