Jonathan Wood is the Vice President of Law and Policy at PERC (Property and Environment Research Center), where he has been a Research Fellow since July 2017. He is also a Blogger at FREEcology, focusing on libertarian environmental topics that explore how property rights and markets can offer better conservation incentives and outcomes compared to regulations.
Prior to his role at PERC, Jonathan worked at the Pacific Legal Foundation (PLF) for several years. He served as a Senior Attorney from March 2019 to June 2021 and as an Attorney from September 2014 to February 2019. He was also a College of Public Interest Law Fellow at PLF from September 2012 to September 2014. During his time at PLF, he litigated environmental and land use cases, handling trial and appellate litigation and submitting amicus briefs in state and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
Jonathan holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law and an M.P.A. in Public and Economic Policy from The London School of Economics and Political Science. He also has a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin.
