Dr. Phil Longstreet is an Associate Professor in Management Information Systems at University of Michigan Flint. Dr. Longstreet’s research has primarily focused on Human Behavior in relation to online mediums and communities. In this space he has published articles showcasing the influence that the online medium and online communities have on the emotional well-being of the typical online user and factors influencing users’ evaluation of online spaces. Additional research has delved into diverse topics such as increasing technological performance, data security in medical wearables, and securing customer data in financial purchases. Dr. Longstreet’s research has been published at prestigious journals including Information & Management, AIS Transactions on Human Computer Interaction, the Information Society, Technology in Society and others. He continues to actively research social media addiction, internet addiction, e-commerce visual appeal, technostress, and emerging topics.
